As an artist, friends and family always ask if they can "have" something. When asked whats their budget they merely chuckle and asked harder, but unfortunately the lights and kiln must stay on so I created a little rule. Get married or include me in a life changing event and I will give a ceramic gift Now a little more than a year after school ended the weddings have begun and my clever rule has come back to haunt me. Inspired by the purity and fragility that is young love I created the COOL(e) White series. Intended as formal gifts the series is available for purchase and commission. Presently I have only produced the wedding platters (pictured) but plan to expand the series in the near future.

Reef - Is my first cohesive body of work consisting of 6 pieces produced since completing school. The series alters the modern-era inspired ceramic vessel to create both and functional and visually dynamic form. Because my inspiration stems from the fluidity in glass artistry and the diverse ecosystems that form the coral reefs the series takes on a playful and oceanic quality. Playful as the works may seem the many spikes that appear to puncture the surface of the vessel create a unique challenge. The spikes act like a defensive organism living on the surface of the object protecting its contents. As the eye travels around the vessel it almost appears to move and wave like reacting to an ocean current.
