About
Patrick Cooley is an artist and architectural designer whose work navigates the intersection of organic form and built environments. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, Patrick’s practice is rooted in the tension between contemporary architecture and biomorphic design. By translating the fluid geometries of marine ecosystems into ceramic sculpture, he transforms sterile interior volumes into vibrant, living compositions.
During his tenure at Kansas City’s Belger Crane Yard Studio and his subsequent relocation to Charlotte to join Clayworks as a Studio Artist, Patrick refined a unique methodology: utilizing clay to disrupt utilitarian spaces. His installations "dance" along architectural surfaces like coral reefs, integrating light, color, and human movement to create immersive, sculptural experiences that challenge the boundary between the object and the room it inhabits.
